Charming 19th Century, Venetian Polychrome Chatelaine Scent Bottle with unusual yellow and blue color pattern and rich silver foil inclusions. These little perfumes were manufactured in Murano and sold in Venice as souvenirs at around 1880 and they are highly collectible. The glass is in excellent condition without obvious signs of damage or age wear and the ornate hinged closure snaps securely into place. A beautiful ruby red facetted glass stone adornes the top. The only indication of age wear are the missing finger ring and the domed closure seems to have been squeezed a bid in one area. Also t is some oxidation on a small section of the chatelaine chain which can easily be removed with a vinegar solution. Photos are provided for reference, please keep in mind that this scent bottle is about 120+ years old. Measurements are 2.75" (7 cm) height including the top, 1.5" (3.5 cm) width and 3.25" (8 cm) circumference. Feel free to contact me with questions of for additional phtos.
