This urn came from a large estate with many fine pieces of china/porcelain. I believe that this was made by Carl Thieme from the little research that I did on the net and is from the late 19th C. At first I thought this was Meissen but Im pretty sure that this is Dresden, (Carl Thieme) based on the mark. The mark is in blue and is a X with a capital T. The base and urn are marked. No mark on the cover. The item is hand painted and very detailed. The urn is approx. 19 1/2" high and weighs over 8 lbs. Three seperate pieces. Cover, the urn, and the base. The urn is two pieces, they are held together by a bolt? Original to the urn. Condition: No cracks or repairs. COVER is missing the small flower on the top and has some petals missing on one of the flower groupings that stick out from the top of the cover. The rest is in nice shap with a few minor nicks. (See photos). URN: No major damage. Seven or eight missing flower petals/leaves and a few minor nicks. The bottom of the urn moves a little on the bolt. Where the two pieces are put together it is black/brown (See photos). It is dirty etc. It isnt damaged. I think it must of had plaster or something holding it together. BASE: Each of the feet has some petals/leaves missing on the flowers (Total, approx 4 or 5), and there are nicks. No cracks. I selected a starting price that I thought was reasonable based on what I saw on the net. I have very little knowledge on this item so please email me with questions. Buyer AS IS. Buyer to pay shipping. I only ship within the United States.
