19th Century Carl Thieme Dresden Ginger Jar Urn This beautiful jar was purchased by an Aunt (who has, long ago, gone to her reward) who traveled Europe in the early 1900's. We are not sure when she made the purchase. The jar is in very very good condition. It has been used as a vase for flower arrangements ----no water involved--artificial flowers only.All scenes and decorations are very detailed and appear to be hand painted. It is about 15" tall by about 8" in diameter at widest part. It weighs almost 6 pounds. We have tried to show all the damage we can find. (see images). A fine crack at the opening and some small, old , chips to base edge.All gold trim is very very good with minimal use wear.
