Description This 19th Century English Chippendale style mahogany four drawer bowfront chest of drawers was sold by The Bowditch Furniture Co. 100 to 106 Orange St. New Haven, CT. would be a great addition to your home. Amazingly the chest retains the on the back the original paper label on the back of the chest. The drawer fronts of this chest are made using the "brickwork" technique to form a bowfront on each drawer. Each drawer is decorated with fan and string inlay. The primary wood of the chest is mahogany, and the secondary wood appears to be pine. The chest measures 37 1/2" in width, 35" in height, 21 1/2" in depth to the wall. Condition The overall condition is of this chest is good. The case of the chest is tight or sturdy. There is shrinkage to the top and to the right side of the chest. Dry finish to both sides of the chest. The top of the chest looks like it has been French polished at a later time. On the top of the chest there is a minute indentation. Nice oxidation to the back and the interior of the chest. The pulls on the chest have been replaced. FREE SHIPPING Shipping and insurance will be included via Greyhound.
