You are bidding on a lovely 19th Century French Aubusson Tapestry This piece has been donated to the American Heart Association by a highly regarded dealer and is being offered through this eBay charity auction with an opening bid amount set well below the $12,500 appraised value (letter appraisal dated February 28, 2008). This tapestry is a settee piece depicting scenes of dancing and romancing couples with surrounding mythological figures. It has been professionally mounted on fabric that is edged with a lovely antique gold trim and fringe. The gross measurements of the piece are 4' high by 7' wide while the tapestry piece itself measures 30" tall by 6' across at the widest points. The fabric backing has a wide strip of Velcro extending the full length of top edge which will make mounting on your wall quite simple. This extremely finely woven wool and silk tapestry is in excellent condition for its age and will add elegance to your decor and value to your collection. Photographic images do not do this piece justice, but it can be viewed and inspected by appointment at the American Heart Association office in Nashville, Tennessee. Please e-mail us to make arrangements. Serious bidders may also request that images be e-mailed for closer visual inspection. This item has been donated by a generous supporter and all proceeds go directly to the American Heart Association.
