This is the second of three Japanese bronze vases I am listing. Came from a Las Vegas auction. They're from a California family. This family possessed these for almost 100 years. Acquired them in the early part of the 20th century. Vase stands 7 1/4 inches tall. Square topside opening is 2 1/8 by 2 1/8 inches. Base is 2 1/8 by 2 1/4 inches. Intermittent ribs on four sides / corners breaks from the top section, mid section & base. Ringed handles dangle from half ring mount with a rabbit head directly above the handle mounts. Four different patterns adorn this ancient artifact. I have to confess I am somewhat at a loss regarding the exact terminology to describe all this so it goes. The four corners of the top section has a pointed scrolling pattern that wraps around each corner. Directly below that is what appears to be a tree pattern. The lower section has a circular and square pattern design that is accented by a heavier relief pattern that criss crosses the majority of the thinner pattern. Three sides of the base has a variation of the same pattern and the fourth side of the base has a pattern that is two symbols, left and right side then a line down the middle from top to bottom. I will get more photos on this real soon. No cracks. No chips. No splits. No metal fatigue. No holes. Pretty good condition considering the overall age of this ancient artifact. I've added 4 new photos of the ever changing base pattern that highlights this artist signed antique bronze vase. Cheers / Mgfrd1959
