An Original KPM Lithophane (Light-up) Plaque Its true beauty can best be appreciated when seen "lit up" in person. This item is available to other countries. Cost of shipping to other than the USA must be calculated. This decorative lithophane type plaque is an original 19th century KPM piece of porcelain. As pictured, it has an impressed mark on the back: K.P.M. 294 O It has very detailed & attractive images in relief .In the scene, t's a young girl cuddling one of the puppies. "Mother" dog is next to her watching closely with very attentive eyes. They are sitting under a stone bridge of sort with encircling vines overhead. Also, t is a valley scene with trees shown in the background. When lit, the overall image is quite intriguing/eye-catching ! Condition wise, the plaque is in great shape. It has no noticeable cracks, damage or detractive discoloration. The porcelain still has a well-preserved, clean look to it. It is encased in a contemporary Victorian style, CherryWood-looking display with a light source from behind. The framing is very impressive, yet elegant which lends to a good antique victorian look. Its overall dimensions are approximately 14" x 14" with the base being about 5" wide. W the upper frame meets the base, it is surfaced with a very thin soft type velour. It is maroon in color. As shown, the back area/light source is protected by a gold pierced metal lattice.This is truly a unique piece of KPM which can be enjoyed and treasured by a collector and their family. We can no longer use it and have it on display as it should be appreciated ! You will be pleased with its condition and beauty.
