This is a 100% original vintage pond yacht everything is intact as it was the day it left the craftsman’s workshop in the early1900s! It is a little dusty on the deck but I didn’t want to clean it and damage it in any way.
The name 'NOVA' is hand painted on each side of the bow and the deck has a plate affixed to the fan tail depicting the words 'Navigable' and 'Made in France'. It still has the original mfg tag and logo attached to one of the standing shrouds. The logo is a 5 pointed star with the letters MFP. The logo is also printed on the mainsail. She has beautiful lines and is a rich natural wood color with a very much intact clear varnish.
The mast, gaff, boom and bowsprit are entirely intact and functional from the fore and aft jib sheets to the gaff and jib halyards. Each held fast with wooden deck cleats. The mast is hinged in such a way that when the clip holding the bowsprit to the tip of the bow is unlatched, the entire standing rigging and sails fold back for transportation or storage.
Ballast is provided by a cast iron keel plate affixed to the keel.
This is a beautiful piece of history and work of art!
I can’t emphasize enough how intact and original this boat is. It appears as if it was placed on the hobby shop shelf the day it was made never touched again.
The only condition issues are the built up dust on the deck and stains and a tear in the mainsail.
