Before this beautiful late 19th Century Oriental Vase was consigned at our shoppe, it was owned by a prominent Seattle family who purchased it for $1250 from a local antiques dealer. The four-sided vase, from the Shanghai Province, features a raised three inch round opening at the top. Two sides show handpainted outdoor/wildlife scenes while the others show Chinese script and moulded elephant tusks (see images). A partial wax seal is affixed to the bottom of the vase (see image).
