Antique 19th Century Black Laquered Lap Desk/Writing Slope includes inkwell, Fairchild Dip Pen and Blair Dip Pen S tyle: Lap Desk / Writing Slope Material: Laquered wood Color : Black Measurements : 12" L x 8.5" H x 3.25" D / 1.75" Features : A Rare penwork and painted writing slope, the colourful painted framed birds surrounded by a penwork floral pattern and fan in gold with mother of pearl inlay. This is a rare and beautiful combination. Hinged top opens to reveal the pen and inkwell section and purple velvet writing area. Compartment under the top half of the writing area for letter storage. Fairchild #4 Retracting Dip Pen, gold filled with ivory taper & Fountain Pen with cap stamped J. Blair, NY, 3 A.M. 1 BRIT. Pat. NT., cap is gold with ivory taper. Inkwell is 3/4 full.
