Please check please out my other auctions for more sterling silver listed this week.An amazing circa 1870s Antique Victorian Silver plated centerpiece decorated with embossed Latin named scenes, and Ram and Lion heads around the central column. The top bowl surface depicts a classical city scene, with artists, poets, musicians. Underside bowl scenes "Dignitas", "Imortalitas", "Honor" Central Column scenes "Nox", "tepus", Dics" Bas scenes "VSVS", "Diligentia", Labor" The centerpiece looks far more impressive in real life than the images can show, the variety and detail is amazing. The centerpiece is also in excellent condition, with little to no wear to the silver plate. The overall size is 11" high by 13" across and weighs a substantial 11 pounds and although unmarked, the style and construction is typical of early Elkington .
