Up for auction is a gorgeous 19th century German translucent enamel beaker featuring two attractive ladies taking a midnight skinny dip in the local creek. This beaker is freeblown crystal and 100% exquisitely hand painted using gold and translucent enamels and is in extra fine condition with no chips, frits, cracks, heat checks, scrathes or repairs. I am a avid collector of paintings of every kind and medium and have cherished this item for many years as it is very well done. Close examination with loupe will reveal each sroke of the artist brush as the figures and ground have precise brush marks and the trees and sky are well done, but created with a artist technique called Dappling, which is less defined and tends to be more impressionistic. The subject matter is a bit saucy with two attractive nude women and is very well done by a professional artist, but unfortunately I cant find a signature. The beaker is either from Vienna or Bohemian, with a style more reminescent of Vienna. Beaker dates between 1880-1910 period, measuring 3 7/8in. tall x 2.25in. diameter across mouth. Still retains 99.999% of gold decoration and has a ground and polished bottom and pontil. In most paintings, you can feel the surface texture of the paint, which is usually the first test most use to see if a work of art is actually indeed a hand painted piece, but Translucent enamels are very thin and the surface texture of the enamels is very smooth, but CAN be felt with a light touch, and different surface textures can be seen, especially when held at a angle to light, then the examination with the loup will verify the method the image was created as it reveals texture and brush marks if hand painted, or in the case of any kind of printing process, will reveal tell tale conditions not consistent with a hand painted object, such as perfectly straight lines of same thickness with no "Pooling" of enamel, etc. and printed enamel surfaces have a smooth even thickness with no variations in surface texture, with the more obvious examples of transfer printing showing dotting or a multiple color application process. This beaker displays all the evidence of a totally hand painted work of art and fully guarantee it as such. I am stressing the guarantee of a hand painted item as I am aware that you ebayers have no way of totally being sure that this is handpainted without actually holding it in your hand, other than my description, guarantee and reputation,as it is imperitive to its value, so please bid in confidence as I am sure you will not be dissapointed with this beaker when you can examine it for yourself. Guaranteed as described or your money back with shipping both ways! OUTSIDE U.S. PAYPAL[VERIFIED ADRESSE] AND EMS SHIPPING ONLY.
