This beautiful 19th. century clock has been in the same collection for almost over 50 years. First time being offered on the open market. Works very well and in excellent condition. Complete with large mercury pendulum. The clock measures 14 inches high and was made by Alex Bruce of Manchester. Bruce is recorded as making a grandfather clock in 1850.Very fine engraved dial. Silvered nameplate. Quarter striking on 2 gongs and having a double fusee. A very rare clock. The clock weighs almost 30 pounds. The back glass has a crack in one corner. The clock has not been in the same collection for 50 years but since 1994 when the last owner bought it in Christies Scotland for almost $2000. Apologies for this error.
