Up for bid is a unique collectible piece of military memorabilia - The Black Jack 1944 1945 - 1st edition of the 21st U S Naval Construction Battalion. Published at the Army and Navy Publishing Building, 234 Main St., Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1946. Filled with the goings on of the 21st Seabees from training camp to their journeys in the Pacific; there are many photographs, drawings, cartoons and engravings. There is a complete roster of the 21st personnel running eight pages at the end of the book. Some yellowing of pages, but overall normal wear. The binding is intact as are all the pages. No tears. The book was obtained at an estate sale and does have a musty smell. However, it is in overall good condition for a 67 year old creation. (see photos) Measures: 12" L x 9" W x 15/16th" D.; 190 pages.
