We have not had a report of a book damaged in transit since shortly after we started selling (it took us a couple of damaged shipments to learn not to pack books in boxes that were too tight a fit).California Sales TaxItems shipped to addresses outside California are not subject to sales tax.Unless you are a reseller with a valid California Seller's Permit buying this item to resell, we are required by California law to collect sales tax for all items shipped to or delivered to addresses in California or picked up from our location.The checkout system cannot handle the complexities of sales tax in California where the sales tax rate varies by where the item is being delivered.
