You are bidding on an original 1st year 1912 hardbound edition of the 'Girl Guides Handbook--How Girls Can Help To Build The Empire' by Agnes Powell and Robert Baden Powell. This is the original edition of the first ever handbook that started the Girl Guides in England...to be followed in 1912 by the Girl Scouts of America formed by Juliette Low. This is a hardbound handbook that is is overall great readable complete condition. It has old writing on the inside from previous owners. T is some aging of the paper and some separation at the spine but it is all intact. This book is not falling apart. It is full of the history of early girl scouting along with a lot of actual pictures of Girl Scouts from the time along with drawings. A real piece of Girl Guide and Girl Scout History. This will be a treasure to someones collection as we fast approach the 100th Anniversary of the Girl Guide and Girl Scout movements in the next few years. This is a brand new never sewn patch, and has the deep chocolate brown colored border. A RARE patch! (4)Philmont Dollar Type 2 with all six segments...new never sewn condition. (5)Philmont 'Mountain Man' segment...new never sewn condition. This is a RARE patch! (6)Robert Baden Powell autograph...the founder of Boy Scouting. (7)Two different Dan Beard autographs with quotes...the co-founder of American Boy Scouting. (8)Ernest Thompson Seton autograph...the co-founder of American Boy Scouting. (9)1908 SCOUTING FOR BOYS...this is the 1st year Boy Scout Handbook by Robert Baden Powell. This is a rare hardback edition in nice shape. This is the handbook that started scouting 100 YEARS ago. A SUPER RARE HANDBOOK!! (10)1917 Girl Scout Handbook...2nd year Girl Scout Handbook by Juliette Low..."How Girls Can Help Their Country". (11)1912 Girl Guides Handbook...1st Girl Scout Handbook by Agnes Baden Powell and Robert Baden Powell. THE handbook that started Girl Guides and Girl Scouting..."How Girls Can Help To Build Up The Empire". (12)Early Girl Guides 'Thank You' Medal...with original small envelope and original Boy Scout Association letter signed by Robert Baden Powell. This is a SUPER RARE set of items from the early days of Boy Scouting and Girl Guiding. Medal is 9k gold. (13)Old English Boy Scout hat pin. (14)Early red felt 'Dan Beard' patrol patch...new never sewn condition. (15)Original Boy Scouts of America New York City letterhead carbon copy letter signed by Ernest Thompson Seton,Chief Scout, with his trademark wolf pawprint.
