This week I will be offering some wonderful primitives. This auction is for TWO 19th Century treenware re: woodenware butter molds. Both are uniquely different, they are the larger size molds with carved pattern stamps and bell shaped cases. Photo #1 shows both molds which you will receive. One mold is 6" tall to the top of the handle x 4 3/4" in diameter, circumference 'around the case' is 15", a very nice size butter mold. Case is slightly 'out of round' from great age, pattern is a pineapple with wreath, very detailed and nicely carved, no cracks or damage on the case. The second butter mold is 5" tall to the top of the handle x 4 1/2" in diameter , circumference 'around the case' is 14 1/2". Pattern stamp is a deeply carved fern or herb, very unusual, a very crisp pattern. T are no cracks in the case. Both butter molds are New England Maple, patina is untouched, they are being offered 'as acquired' with a very low reserve. FYI: T was a time when finding an antique butter mold in a antique shop was a scarce happening. Butter molds w difficult to acquire prior to eBay. Common butter molds years ago were priced from $125.00 on up to $295.00 for common stamps, see photo incert #9. The rarity patterns can realize $1,000.00 & more at the right auctions. Pictures simply do not do early woodenware kitchen antiques any justice. I tried to capture every angle possible. Please view the photos and use the SUPERSIZE feature for greater detail, a pictures says a 1000 words, in hand you will just adore these two antique woodenware butter molds.
