This auction is for a large lot of all different kinds of vintage buttons. I am not an expert or a collector--I am describing these with the "bits and pieces" of knowledge I've gatd by looking at other buttons on eBay. The "little girl in me" wants to keep all the sparkly ones, but they've ALL gotta go! The total number of buttons is approximately 2,420 (was listed originally as 2,200, but I left out a bag of 197 inadvertently. THE FIRST PHOTO SHOWN is only about half of the total buttons. I took and re-took the photos to the best of my ability, and just couldn't seem to get the detail to show, not to mention that the photos lose some clarity between my computer and the auction listing. Please feel free to email me, and I will send you some additional shots, or shots that will appear more clearly than those shown. This group includes: Group of lucite/bakelite & metal escutcheon buttons Small number of various cloth buttons, one set appears quite old, and has a thin metal "frame" Glass buttons (my favorite group), moonglow included, as well as iridescent and jet/mourning buttons, clear glass with designs on bottom of button to show through. A number of "lacy" glass buttons, very tiny blue ones. (This following group in the "glass" category was added to the original listing): an old set of 4 moonglow "eyeball" type buttons, with taupe colored stone, encased in brass or gold metal so that it looks like an eye (on original card); a "piggyback" red ball shafted onto a silver ball with a metal loop; a set of tiny oblong red faceted buttons; a set of black round flat buttons, incised with a wheat-type design; a set of 18 small lt. blue clear glass balls on original card; 3 matching clear glass ball-type, with scallop-type grooves in it..kind of like a ram's horn from the side; a pretty "mirror-back" flower that has a chip on the back 1 Large glass round one with "dents" around it - each "dent" has a rose epoxy-painted on it 2 heart-shaped pearl Plastic "goofies"/realistics? 2 kinds leaves, Indian head Buffed buttons Many shell, some with cut designs, flowers, pinwheels, colored, white, some with metal and/or plastic trim around the edges, a set of large & small triangular shaped. Some of the plainer ones seem crude, others are more uniform. 1 large yellow "mother of pearl", thin plastic w/lucite loop Moonstone/Moonglow 1 carved round milk glass, like a bead 1 little porcelain hat (w/chip) A set of 4 that appear to be handmade (?)--they are oblong, ivory-colored, with little paisleys or leaves pressed into them--not all are exactly the same. They have very large holes, and a lucite/bakelite loop on the back. Red plastic set with silver tinsel centers A number of very large buttons, of various materials Aggregate-type orange, tan, black & gold tinsel, made to resemble rock or marble--2 holes in bottom, one on top 5 matching red & white "Cracker Jack" sailor buttons (3-D, dome shaped) A number of pierced, pink "cotton candy" (and other colors pierced), some flowers, some just pierced designs. Plastic pearl type with stars "cut" into centers Set of red bakelite/plastic(?) "gear"-type, sewn to an old gas bill (1952)--the gas bill total was $1.96, ha ha 2 teardrop-shaped carved--maybe bakelite? Ivory in color--made to look like ivory Pinwheels of different materials Bakelite/Celluloid - T are a couple of large, geometric ones, red grape cluster , ball-shaped ones, a group of brown bakelite--many are incised or cut; " black licorice " (large one), mauve shades of twisted "licorice " ones, " spaghetti "- one is black and t are 3 or 4 different shades of tan and gold, with gold rhinestones in the center, chartreuse crackled gumdrop shaped celluloid(?), and a couple of extruded Weebers (one is in photo--I need to find the other one to include it). At least 225 metal buttons, including fancy filigree types (some are gold metal pierced with what looks ...
