A very cute set of ancient Egyptian ushabti's. Both of these ushabti's date from the Late Kingdom 535-350 BC. The first shabti is a little over 2 inches tall with good detail, the nemes, face, tools and incised heiroglyphs are all easily visible. The second shabti is also made of faience, about 1 and 3/4 inches long with some sand abrasion. The color on the second shabti is very interesting and nice. Shabti's were servants of the afterlife. They were believed to come to life and do all the work for the deceased. Shabti's were made of different materials and different sizes. These are small shabti's for more common folk, but still great pieces for a collection. All items come with certificates of authenticity and are priced below wholesale!!!
