These 19th Century Ironstone Cup and Saucer Sets, in the 'Number 2' pattern, were produced by Elsmore & Forster. As shown, each saucer is marked 'Number 2' and 'E & F'. The cups measure approximately 2 7/8" high and 3 1/16" in diameter. The saucers measure approximately 6" in diameter. T are stilt marks, front and back, on the saucers, and inside the cups. Set A: The cup has one underglaze area of roughness near the top, a couple spots of extra blue glaze on the side, and some glazing imperfections on the bottom - all from manufacture. As seen in the enlarged photo, t is a pinpoint nick on the inside top edge, which would not photograph well. The saucer has mild crazing and discoloration around one of the stilt marks on the front. T are no cracks or repairs. Set B: The cup has some glaze skips at the base, bottom and top edge, from manufacture, and some crazing. T is a glaze pop on the saucer, from manufacture. This set has no chips, cracks or repairs. We make every attempt to fully and accurately describe the listed item, but welcome your inquiries.
