2 Antique Figural Candlestick Brass Victorian Prism 15

Offered for auction is this pair of matching antique candlestick holders. The figural brass casting depicts a Victorian man and woman with a leafy foliage background. The oval cast brass rings which the glass prisms hang from depicts a floral arrangment with love birds. We did not try to polish the brass. The two bases which the cast brass stems bolt onto are white marble and measure 5 1/4" wide X 3 1/2" deep X 3/4" thick. One marble base measures about 1/4" deeper than the other. The candlesticks are about 15 1/4" tall. T is some roughness on the edges of the marble bases and some light shadow stains in the marble, see the pictures. We detected no cracks, breaks or repairs in the brass casting and the marble base on either candlestick. We found no maker's mark or label on either piece. Most of the glass prisms have chips and some prism parts have been replaced or are missing. Each candlestick has nine prism hanging holes in the oval ring. T are 18 prisms but 3 of the 1" X 7/8" small squares are missing. 8 of the 15 small square prisms are plain and do not have the "star" pattern design cut in them like all the long prisms have. The other 7 small square prisms do have the cut pattern design. The other 15 complete prism units measure an average of 5" long, they do vary in length somewhat depending on the length of the connecting wire. 6 of the prisms are 3/4" wide and the other 12 are almost 1" wide. Some of the hanging wires have been replaced. All of the 1" wide prisms have various degrees of chip damage. The six 3/4" wide prisms are in much better condition, we noticed a total of only 3-4 small flea bites on them. These might have been replacement prisms at some time. We offer these two candlesticks with a low starting bid and with no reserve! Buyer pays USPS Priority shipping and required insurance. Payment is due within 10 days of invoice. U.S. shipping only.
