Two Terrific Antique Victorian German bisque jardienieres with figurines. One is signed with G$ DEP mark and numbered. (note: my symbol is not exact , couldn't create it exactly, it's a G with two vertical arrows through it), and the other marked "GERMANY" and numbered 2658 A. This one with the children is probably Conta & Boehm or Hertwig, or possibly another Schneider. Both are quite collectible. The children group is simply charming and displays great with piano babies. T is a little boy and girl and another baby girl. A sweet little family scene. These are modeled beautifully - those faces - "Adorable!" Big brother, and sister and baby Sis are all dressed in charming Victorian apparel. They are grouped together with a bisque jardiniere carriage/cart in a sleigh shape. They are holding a huge floral garland that wraps over big sister's shoulder and down around the side of the sleigh-shaped carriage. Made in parian style with light golden/green highlights. Faces and cart do not appear to have ever been painted. A whisp of light green is on big sister's dress & brother's knickers, and then touches of golden highlights in just the right places. Careful exam shows 2 finger nicks on big sis (thumb tip and forefinger), and just a nibble off the tip of baby's pinkie finger. Otherwise fabulous! Measures approx. 23 cm/ 9" across at longest point. Next is a gorgeous figural jardiniere with a magical fairytale mystical appeal. The fantasy princess, adorned with her golden crown and long flowing blonde hair, has harnassed a lavender winged dragon to whisk them away to Never-never land. OK, so maybe their destination is a little closer, but none the less, This figure has a wonderful fantasy look! The cornucupia shaped chariot is embellished with multiple molded designs including seashell motif, beading scrolls and floral garlands. The princess is beautiful! Great face with wonderful detail. Her hands are delicate with tiny fingers - all perfect. Holes are drilled in each palm for her silver lasso (I added, was missing) and holes also in dragon's mouth for the lasso. The flowing gown on our fantasy Princess is so pretty in a soft buttery yellow. It is highlighted with rasied golden enamel beads. Other pastels on the figure are soft pink and lavender. The colors I would say are more subdued than when made - some paint has worn away, but it is still very lovely. The back is unpainted except for a bit of gold highlights on the spoked chariot wheel. T is some rusty discoloration inside the jardiniere as it appears it once actually contained a plant. T are no chips or repairs anyw on this figure, only a teensy manufacturing firing crack on the back which I'll point out to be accurate. This is a great signed Karl (Carl) Schneider piece, and if you are a collector - you wont be dissapointed. Meausures at longest length approx 20cm or 8 inches.
