Two Civil War Carte De Viste's of Union Major General Charles Griffin, Commadeer 1st Division, 5th Corps. Written faintly in pencil below the portrait on one photo is "Genl. Griffin". Below the photo, on one card, is the name of the photographer "Brady, Washington". On the back of the card, in ink pen, is what may be a signature (I have not found another signature to compare with). "Maj. Gen. Chas. Griffin, 1st Div, 5th ** Corps" Also on the back of this card is the name of the photographer "Brady's National Photographic Portrait Galleries, No. 352 Pennsylvania Av., Washington, D.C & Broadway & Tenth St., New York". On the back of the 2nd card is written in ink pen "Brig Gen Chas Griffin, Comdy 1st Div., 5 Corps, Army Of The Potomic". The carte de viste's is original and comes through the estate of General James McQuade, commandeer of the 14th New York Volunteers out of Utica, New York. The cards measures approx. 4" x 2 1/2", and are in very good condition, minor soiling; a small crease to the very top edge of one, not affecting the photo, these cards have never been in a photo album and are not completly flat. These are original Civil War Carte de Viste's, not reproductions. Arizona residents pay sales tax of 8.35%. Buyer pays shipping. We ship within five days of payment.
