TWO VINTAGE FOUNTAIN PENS 1 Waterman's Ideal and 1 Remex Eyedropper These two pens are being sold together. The Waterman's Ideal is a midnight blue color and has Waterman's Made in U.S.A. stamped on the barrel. The screw cap is silver showing the company logo and with Watermans stamped on the clip. The nib is in very good condition with no breaks or cracks; and is imprinted with the words "Waterman's Ideal, 14-KT". The box is also in good condition and contains the original tissue and instructions on how to fill the pen. The Remex is the eyedropper style and slightly slimmer than the standard fountain pen. The black barrel is imprinted with Remex, New York, U.S.A. The black cap has no clip, and just slips on the barrel - it has no threads. It does have a very tiny red dot towards the top of the cap, but I don't know its significance. The nib unscrews so the eyedropper can be used to fill the barrel with ink. The nib is in very good condition with no breaks or cracks and is marked Remex N.Y. I believe it to be gold although it is not marked 14KT. The eyedropper is made of glass and has a white rubber balloon attached at one end. The box is in good condition and has filling and cleaning instructions on the bottom. It also lists prices for repairs, e.g. it would cost 60 cents to repair the gold nib! The name L.E. Remex Co. also appears on the box - the initials being the same as Lewis Edson Waterman, so it is likely that it was another line manufactured by the Waterman Company. If you are a collector of old fountain pens, these two would make a nice addition to your collection. Please email me with any questions prior to the end of the auction.
