This auction is for an early pair of bisque figurines. They are a matched set. One is a boy or man who is holding a rifle in one hand and a duck in the other. He has beautiful blue eyes rosy red cheeks. The lady is holding a pitcher in one hand and part of her skirt in the other. She, too has lovely blue eyes and rosy cheeks. They are both dressed rather fancy and have raised jeweled painting on their outfits. They measure just a little over 11 1/2" tall. Both are marked on the backs near the base with the numbers 4814. Only wear I noticed on the girl is some gold wear on the handle of the pitcher. I can see traces of gold left on it. The man has purse or pack over one shoulder and t is a small inconspicous nick at the very bottom of it. It kind of looks like an upside down v. Only way I noticed this was by feeling it, it felt a little rough and if you look from underneath you can see it is actually a small nick. It is not something anyone will ever see or ever notice. T is a fold in the bisque at the bend in his arm holding the rifle. This is a manufacturing flaw and not considered damage but wanted to mention for accuracy. Inside the bottom of the base someone has written Germany faintly inside. The base is real deep, about 1 1/2" inside on both of them. T are also some orange numbers from the manufacturers but no clear marking read more
