Two dog books illustrated by Marguerite Kirmse that I have loved for years. The illustrations and the stories are so sweet and include special dogs, assorted wildlife, a pony and a few naughty cats.

The first is "Spot the Dalmatian Pup" (1950), stated First Edition and published by J.P. Lippincott Company and the second is "Tinker, The Little Fox Terrier," (1942) also published by Lippincott but not stated first edition -both by the author Dorothy L'Hommedieu.

Both stories are wonderful. Tinker gets into trouble by chasing a very large cat into the woods w he gets lost. The woodland critters know all about Tinker and his "chasing" antics and aren't about to help him find his way home but...a bluebird's story changes all that! Spot has a pedigree and is AKC all the way but she wants to be a fire engine dog (like her mother). Growing up takes her through many brave and humorous adventures.

Both books have their dust jackets. Tinker's is in fine condition with only two tiny pc's of scotch tape stuck to it but Spot's has a few tears in it that were taped up many years ago. Both binding's are a little weak but pretty good overall and Spot has some age stains or foxing on a few pages. Inside back edge of cover has what looks to be silverfish damage.

They've been together on my bookshelf for many years and have always brought a smile to my face.

If you have to make a claim with USPS be prepared to wait many weeks for the claim to be processed. Tfore, I use (and get faster results) with UPS.

My shipping quotes are estimates but are usually within $5.00-$7.00 of actual cost. Plus , I insure everything for the value you pay for it . This is included in my shipping prices. Shipping to Canada or overseas is more and has to be quoted on a case by case basis.
