Offered for auction isa pair of SOUTHERN Coin Teaspoons marked by WILLIAMS & VICTOR inLynchburg Virginia in about 1815. The spoons are about 5 inches in length, and feature a flowing script cypher monogram of "HAS". Each is marked with a script "W&V" in a rectangular punch. The mark attribution is from Cutten's "The Silversmiths of Virginia" (the illustration from the book can be seen in one of the photos). The partnership of Williams and Victor was active from 1814 to 1845, but the form and the mark date these spoons among the earliest produced by the firm. The condition is generally good (solid with no tears, breaks, etc) just a little tip wear and aging. Let the photos be your guide. All things considered, nice examples of this early Lynchburg partnership.
The lot is offered for the ridiculous starting price of 99 cents and without of reserve. Good luck, and thanks for looking.
