Amazing knives by Whiting in the gorgeous "Lily" art nouveau pattern. The original design, not to be confused with the later re-cast version by Gorham. These are lumpy, rounded, & gnarled with a pattern of Easter lilies. Check the photos to see the thickness of the handle. I don't see these very often so Idon't know if they're luncheon place size or possibly tea knives. They are 8 5/8" long. As for the blades. they ARE NOT stainless. They are old carbon steel, paddle shaped, silver plated and slightly worn. Mostly on the edge of the blade & some small areas around the bolster, but t is some slight pitting you can feel with your finger. It's hard to get this to show up in a photograph; please examine the pictures carefully. High-maintenance silver for that high-maintenance person... Handles are in beautiful condition, with a tiny monogram "L" .
