This is the most exciting thing I've come across at an estate sale in awhile! Up for auction are a set of 2 numbered vintage GALLO GLASS wine bottles. Both bottles are a heavy green swirled glass. The exciting thing................ Inside one of the bottles was a rolled up note. It is dated 1980, written to the Gallo Brothers asking for information on these 2 bottles. The owner said her family had them for quite some time. On her original letter, they answered her saying: The "swirled" pattern is the original "Ripple Wine" bottle. It was used 1960, '61, '62. Impressed into their bottoms: ONE SAYS : 1250 GALLO GLASS FLAVOR © GUARD 7C 4/5 QUART THE OTHER SAYS : 1250 GALLO GLASS FLAVOR © GUARD 8C 4/5/QUART Both stand 10"tall and are in wonderful vintage condition. T were no lids with them. The one with the note had a stray cork in the top to keep it closed and safe all these years. SEE ALL 7 PHOTOS.
