Vintage 1920s wood folding chairs in very good, useable condition -- made by the AMERICAN SEATING COMPANY, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Chairs were bought in the 1980s from an Estate Sale in Virginia. The chairs look great and are still in very good condition --- fold, open/close fine. Each one is strong and sturdy. The American Seating Company was formed in the 1880s and made chairs for over 100 years -- for sport facilities and events, schools, churches and for the U.S. Military for their training camps, mess halls, etc. The American Seating Co. devoted much of its energies to supporting the military effort - even including ejector seats for airplanes. One of the chairs has U.S. on the back - plus the American Seating mark. The chairs are made of plywood (with protective colored varnish) and oak legs -- heavy steel metal re-enforces the legs and seats. The chairs are approx. 30" tall by 15 1/2" deep by 15" wide; seat is 16" from floor -- still in very good cosmetic condition. Great addition to any collection. Shipping will be approx. $35.00 by UPS or Greyhound. Good Luck Bidding.
