2 William Ridgway 'Oriental' Flow Blue Plates c.1830
Description: A pair of antique and really beautiful flow blue transfer pattern plates from William Ridgway, Staffordshire, England, c.1830-1834. On white grounds, they have an intricate center pattern of a temples with people & palm trees; mountains and boats in the background. Intricate floral pattern border with alternating cartouches containing temple/pagoda scenes and florals. Beautiful articulation. Scalloped & glit perimeters. The photos don't show it very well, but these are 'true' flow blue, with quite a bit of cobalt 'bleed' on both the fronts & backs. Dimensions: each is 8" in diameter Markings: On the back: stamped in blue: the Wm. Ridgway urn & beehive mark with "Oriental"; "WR" (William Ridgway); "England" Condition: Excellent - incredible for their age. No breaks or chips. Little to no paint loss; some gilding loss. They're both covered with a very, very fine and light crazing which really adds to their charm. International buyers must All payment must be received within 5 days of auction close. If not, eBay will be contacted about non-payment, negative feedback will be left and item will be re-listed. I don't insist on insurance for all items (some I do), but even though your item will be packed very well, I strongly suggest it - I can't be held responsible for damage or loss in the mail. Domestic Shipping: I normally ship via USPS Priority Mail (approx. 2-3 day transit time); although I sometimes give an option for USPS Parcel Post (approx. 3 days) for heavier items. I require Delivery Confirmation on every domestic item I send out. This lets both seller & buyer track their item in transit, and gives the Post Office a way to find it should it get lost. Insurance: $201.00 and up insured items require a signature (they will not be just left at your door) $50.00-$200.00 insured items will be left at your door. If you'd prefer to sign for your item, please let me know before paying for your item - Signature Confirmation will have to be added. International Shipping (including Canada): USPS First Class Mail International: For items 4 lbs and under. Approx. transit time of 6-10 business days. This doesn't give an option for insurance, so if you want to insure your item, it must be sent via USPS Priority Mail International (which is usually more expensive - see below). USPS Priority Mail International: For items over 4 pounds, and for any insured items. Approx. transit time of 6-10 business days. The fee includes a small amount of insurance based on the weight of the package; additional insurance is available. ***An additional shipping charge of $2.00 is added to all internationally shipped items, to cover the cost of additional packing expenses. Multiple Item Shipping: I'm happy to combine shipping charges on multiple wins, within reason. However, the buyer must bring it to my attention ahead of time if one item has been won & paid for, but another for the multiple ship is still pending.
