The past week has appeared long to me. I have had no letter from you my darling. It is one week this morning since I received one from you and oh how long it seems. I hope my darling has not been sick or our boy or any of those near and dear to me. I have received a letter so regularly since my return to camp on Thursday morning that I began to calculate on it as a certainty but I was disappointed this week for none came. I suppose, however, when Prof. Tuttle returns he will bring me one from you. I shall await anxiously for him.When I last wrote you it was so very warm. Yesterday morning it commenced turning cool and today we can sit very comfortably by a hot fire with closed doors. It is raining and it is very disagreeable. Since I last wrote you t has been some arrivals in camp of the feminine gender: Mrs Sam Hamilton and baby, and MrsJno. Gibney whose husband belongs to the band arrived in camp on Friday morning about one o'clock. The first I know of their arrival I was awakened from my slumber by one musical noise in the snake's den...
