I bought a ShinSung Career II 707 rifle in .22 cal. over thirteen years ago and was amazed by its accuracy. I decided to order a ShinSung Career .22 barrel, 24 inches long, from John Burroughs in California, an importer of ShinSung Career rifles. I think I paid about $75.00 for the barrel at the time. I then paid a machinist to cut and machine down the breech end of the barrel so it could fit into a Crosman 600. The end result was a 20 inch Crosman 600 barrel. The barrel was also machined down to fit a bulk-fill extension tube. The muzzle end was untouched. The muzzle end is threaded for a screw on attachment that was offered for the Career. After each shooting session I pull a lightly oiled patch through the barrel using a “Crown Saver” and the barrel is wiped down with a “Gun & Reel Silicone Cloth”. The bluing on the barrel is still in excellent shape and the barrel’s rifling is clean and lightly oiled. With proper maintenance this barrel will last a long, long time. South Koreans really make good quality barrels. With this barrel and shooting dome pellets the Crosman 600 is not only the ultimate Fun Gun but it is also very accurate at longer than usual range. This is due to the higher velocity and accurate barrel. My Crosman 600 was shooting 14.3 grain pellets at 350 fps. After installing this barrel the velocity went to 55 read more
