This bisque head marked K * R (Kammer & Reinhardt) was designed to represent a six week old baby. It was made by Simon & Halbig for the Kammer company. She is often referred to as a "Kaiser Baby and has a solid dome head, intaglio eyes, open-closed mouth and a composition bent limb body. There has been repairs to the right hand and both arms appear to have been repainted. Other then the normal wear to toes and neck the rest of the body is in tact. The head has no hairlines, chips, rubs or cracks. The coil that is holding the head on needs to be fixed. When I picked her up the head was scary floppy. Looks like the coil is fastened to the body stringing with a hook that is too long. Needs a shorter one which I do not have. This will need to be replaced, wasn't a problem for me since she has been seated in my display cabinet for years and not moved. Her clothes are a diaper, white cotton shirt, white slip with hand tatting & embroidery, and a light peach long dress. The dress needs laundry and there is an area where her metal rattle sat that is either stained or spotted. Her pink booties have been good fodder for moths so there are breaks in the yarn but will send them as is. She has blue eyes and big ears, great color with no rubs.
