This Gibson Girl doll is gorgeous. Her outfit is to die for. I don't know if it is original but it certainly makes the doll. It is a walking suit made out of raw silk and trimmed in lace. The hat and purse are later additions but appropriate for the outfit and era. The wig is mohair attached to her original plaster pate. She has brown sleep eyes with some original lashes. The kid leather body is in great condition. There is a small professional repair at one arm hole needed for reinforcement. Does not affect value. It is a wonderful riveted leather/kid body--see pictures. Her bisque head has no damage or repairs Her bisque hands are perfect. I did not pull down the leather to see if she was marked but the auctioneer had checked her. She is a Kestner. Her underwear definitely looks original and is lovely. She books for 3500.00+ so my price is a bargain. The doll has wonderful clear bisque with gorgeous coloring.I have removed the hot pink silk attached to her collar and replaced it with a more suitable creme colored one. See first two pictures.
