Presented is a nearly 200 year old sealed bottle with the Grand Old Parr Scotch Whisky label. My consignment client recalls getting the bottle in the late 50s or early 60s.The brown bottle has a crackle design with a smooth glass neck. T are a number of paper labels which read: Grand Old Parr -- This was his bottle -- Contents 26-1/2 ounces (Small piece of corner missing) Grand Old Parr Real Antique and Rare Old Scotch Whisky Blended & Bottled by the Proprietors MacDonald Greenlees Ltd., Distillers, Leith Scotland Thomas Parr born A.D. 1483 -- was interred at Westminster Abbey A.D. 1635 -- Aged 152 Years Distilled, Blended and Bottled in Scotland -- Registered No. 613868 Picture of a bearded man -- Old Parr Aged 152 Years Cap heat sealed label --Grand Old Parr Scotch Whiskey -- MacDonald Greenlees Ltd, Distillers, Leith Scotland SEAL Liquor Control Board of Ontario No. UM707722 (slight tear on top, but nothing missing) The bottle measures 8" tall and is a rounded shape. It is in excellent condition. I am told the "152 years" has to do with Thomas Parr supposedly having lived for 152 years, but has nothing to do with the age of the contents of the bottle.
