Photo 1 was taken in darkness with a UV light. The rest of the photos were taken outdoors in natural lighting so you can see every detail of this beautiful lamp. Aladdin's 2000 "Topaz/ Vaseline" Grand Vertique Lamp Made by Fenton Glass. Blending the rich traditions of Aladdin and Fenton. The very special lamp This magnificent lamp is crafted by the Fenton Glass Company of Williamstown, West Virginia. for the Aladdin Mantle Lamp Company. Made of true "vaseline" glass, Fenton calls their formulation "Topaz". This rare and costly glass contains uranium, which causes the entire lamp and shade to glow strongly under ultraviolet light. This glass is highly prized by collectors of Victorian and early twentieth century glassware. The stem and foot are formed with the yellow-green crystal glass, while the bowl and shade in the same glass are re-heated, or "struck", to cause the beautiful opalescent translucency. The lamp comes with the world famous Aladdin mantle burner and electric converter with night light. The Matching Shade The hand-blown glass shade features a ribbed optic which perfectly compliments the veritcal ribbing of the font (base). A thin crest of cobalt blue glass gloriously outlines the crimped top. A matte finish on the inside of the shade assures even distribution of light.
