Case XX RussLock, year 2000, pattern # 61953 LSS, item #785(standard production, special 111 shield for Shepherd Hills, only 100 made), handled in Pocket Worn Old Red bone . The frame of the knife is 3.6 inches long, and the opening lever hangs out another half inch. The tang stamp is CASE XX with 5 dots and 5 x’s, indicating the knife was made in the year 2000. The reverse side of the tang is USA over 61953 L over SS. TESTED XX is stamped on the opening lever. It has the standard “Case XX” oval shield used in 2000, with “111” added to it. This is a liner lock knife, which snaps perfectly in place when opened. The knife is mint, never used or carried. Comes with its original box and paperwork. The Case RussLock was first produced in the year 2000, and is featured on the cover of the W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co. catalog for 2000, and the Shepherd Hills Cutlery catalog #12 for summer 2000. The RussLock was named for J. Russell “Russ” Case, the founder of Case Cutlery. It has a specially gimped lever, reminiscent of the Case straight razor, which allows you to open the Tru-Sharp surgical steel blade with just one hand. A stainless steel liner locks the blade in place for added safety. The bolsters, pins, and liners are made of pure nickel silver. Even the pattern number, 1953L, is a tribute to the year Russ Case passed away. It was the last knife designed by legendary Case Master Knifemaker, Tommy Hart, who worked for Case for nearly 50 years.I have 30 year 2000 RussLocks which include a prototype and a couple club knives. Based on research with Case production records, this is all t is for the year 2000. All will be sold over the next 3 weeks, and each winner will get a list of all 30 knives. Check my other auctions as I have 9 more RussLocks for sale this week.Payment is expected within 7 DAYS of the auction ending date. Please feel free to email with any questions that you may have. Multiple purchases can usually be combined to save $$$ on shipping and handling costs. Returns are fine if you are not satisfied with the knife.
