2002 Commonwealth Games Piedfort Silver Proof Two Pounds Coin-Scottish Flag In 2002 the Royal Mint produced a series of designs commemorating the 17th Commonwealth Games held in Manchester. Variations on a Design Theme There are four different designs, all similar except that the central cameo features in turn the flags of, England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Piedfort proof version with a lower issue limit, and coloured details on the flag. Although the issue limit was lower than for the silver proof, more piedfort sets were sold, presumably reflected greater collector interest and demand for the coloured version.
