2002 Swarovski Christmas Snowflake Ornament This ornament is from the Swarovski "Flakes and Stars" Christmas collection. This ornament is in absolutely mint condition and it has never been out of the box. It comes in the original box and includes the original certificate of authenticity. It is by far the most elegant ornament in the series. Swarovski created a tradition with this Collection by issuing a Christmas Snowflake or Star Ornament each year (starting in 1991) in a strictly limited Edition. All odd numbered years are stars (1991, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003 & 2005) All even numbered years are snowflakes (1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 & 2004) Originally the ornaments were packed in single boxes but Swarovski began double boxed packaging in 1997. Daniel Swarovski created the company in the 19th century, creating a world famous crystal, which is cut and etched into many designs. The distinctive Swan Logo represents unparalled quality. Martin Zendron was born in the medieval town of 11 in Tyrol , Austria , Martin Zendron now lives and works only a few miles away in Wattens, the home of Swarovski. In his late teens, Martin attended the College of Glassmaking and Design of Kramsach/Tyrol, w he studied glass design with a special course in cutting and engraving.
