The Royal Canadian Mint is proud to commemorate the sacrifices made by Allied veterans on the 60th anniversary of VE-Day, May 8th, 1945 during the Second World War, with the 2005 Silver Maple Leaf VE-Day coin. This is a double privy mark coin minted by Canada. To the left of the maple leaf stem, a privy mark of an Allied tank,is depicted that was used in the European campaign. To the right appears the commemoration This privy mark silver maple leaf is enscribed with "VE Day 8*5*45 Jour VE". The obverse features the new,fourth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The VE-Day Privy Mark SML comes in a clear plastic capsule.
