Up for sale are a set of 4 Australian 1 oz Kookaburra coins - one each from 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 years. These beautiful Perth Mint Kookaburra coins are rare and command significant premiums due to their limited mintages and beautiful Perth Mint designs, which make them greatly sought after by collectors. The Kookaburra is an annual series from the Perth Mint, and has a design which changes from year to year. Mintages were strictly capped at just 300,000 coins per year up to and including the 2010 year, and at 500,000 coins for the 2011 year onwards, very low mintages for a bullion coin by worldwide standards. On each coin the obverse always depicts Queen Elizabeth II, whilst the reverse has a different design of the kookaburra from year to year as well as the year, the "P" mintmark of Perth Mint, the purity and the words " AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA" or "THE AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA" written on the coin. Total up for sale is 4 troy ounces.
