Discontinued, Sold Out from US Mint 2008-W $25 1/2 oz Uncirculated American Gold Eagle Coin very low production and sales figures-key coin This comes in the original brown cardboard sealed box as received from the US Mint. You will receive the paperwork proving what's inside this unopened box. The US Mint's description: "The American Eagle Gold Uncirculated Coins were introduced in 2006. Struck on specially burnished blanks, these coins offer precious metal purchasers a collectible version of the popular American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins and feature a finish similar to their bullion coin counterparts. The coins are available in four sizes – one ounce, one-half ounce, one-quarter ounce, and one-tenth ounce, as well as a four-coin set which contains one coin in each denomination. Each coin bears the “W” mint mark reflecting their striking at the United States Mint at West Point. The obverse features Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ full-length figure of Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The reverse design, by sculptor Miley Busiek, features a male eagle carrying an olive branch flying above a nest containing a female eagle and her eaglets.
