I have to admit last year 2008 was quite the year. Sky rocketing premiums, volatile spot pricing, Mint rationed deliveries, and very limited supply as it seemed demand was off the charts. Or at least that is something I had said, along with many others. Now with the year 2008 out of the way, and some Mint sales numbers tentatively posted, it seems 2008 shows a mintage of 20.5 + million coins. Kind of a bad number for numismatic purposes, but to put it into perspective, the previous high was in 1987 (the 2nd year of the ASE program) with 11,442,335 coins. So does a 9+ million coin blowout increase over the previous indicate what demand is for Silver Eagles these days? The 2008's only beat the all time Silver Eagle high by 79.8%. 2009 is continuing the 2008 trend - over 7.8 mil coins sold in the first 14 weeks of the new year. (Jan 1.9 mil, Feb 2.125 mil, March 3.132 mil- notice the increasing volume?) To put these number into historical perspective, 7.8 mil in 3 months beats every year of the 1990's and running at an average of 559,607 coins sold per week. At this average, you are looking at over 29 mil coins and an almost 50% increase over 2008 (the new high) and 165% increase over the 20 year high of 1987. Silver is smoking hot!

Otherwise, to proactively answer some questions in advance (because I always get them)

No, I don't search the rolls. I don't have the time to and it isn't worth it anyway since MS70's are common nowadays and barely pull $100 if that. These are unopened and unsearched. I spend way too much time packing and sitting in a line at the post office to be botd.

These are fresh from green monster boxes, they come with no tape or stickers over the lid. I do put a piece of tape over the top for shipping purposes so that the roll doesn't come apart during shipping. If that bothers bothers you, take the tape off. It won't leave any residual paper, unlike those Photoshopped mailing "First Strike" mailing labels that some other 'creative' sellers are promoting. And don't think PCGS, NGC or any grader with First Strike or Early Release those coins if you try to submit them. Anyone can come up with a homemade bogus label and a copy of a Mint dated manufacturing slip. You will be sadly mistaken if you think differently.

The 2009 Mint sticker with barcode on the backdrop in the picture (right side) on the monster box lid- that doesn't come with the roll.

I make no assurances or guarantees of quality of the coins for grading purposes. I am selling these as bullion, and again have stated, I don't search them. I get several boxes weekly and don't have the time nor desire to go thru them. My time is spent pre-packing and shipping these rolls and usually sitting in a post office line on a daily basis. Sometimes the rolls have gorgeous coins, sometimes they don't. They are production coins after all. If the coins have a mark on them, then so be it. Thats just the luck of the draw.

As of today, the US Mint has NOT stopped making these (see below in red) and they are not necessarily a low mintage (think 1996 as 1 seller put it, which was a 3.6 mil total annual production) or 'rare' as a few other sellers say. DON'T BE LIED TO by some other disreputable sellers (check the feedbacks also for integrity). These are regular old uncirculated and surpassed 1996's annual mintage by about February 15. From the US Mi...
