This is a 2009 Louis Braille Bicentennial Silver Dollar proof that commemorates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Braille, inventor of the Braille system. This lovely proof coin features a portrait of Louis Braille. The opposite shows a child reading a book in Braille with the word "Braille" BRL in Braille code above him. The word "Independence" in on the bookshelf behind the child. The coin comes in a protective cover, a custom gift box and has its own official certificate of authenticity.
