Up for auction is the 2012 Infantry Soldier Silver Dollar Defenders of Freedom Set. This was a limited-edition set with a production limit of 50,000, which is included in the program mintage limit of 350,000 silver dollars.

This set includes a proof silver dollar, a replica dog tag on a miniature chain and a famous quote from President John F. Kennedy and showcases the Army motto, all in a custom folder. The silver dollar was minted at West Point and bears the “W” mint mark.

The obverse (heads) design features a modern Infantry soldier on rocky ground charging forward and beckoning to the troops to follow, symbolizing the “Follow Me” motto of the Infantry.

The reverse (tails) design features the crossed rifles insignia, the branch insignia of the Infantry.
