They are struck at the West Point facility and distributed in the same manner as American Eagle gold bullion coins. (Uncirculated American Eagles, unlike their Proof counterparts, are sold not directly to the general public, but to a series of authorized buyers. These buyers obtain the Uncirculated bullion coins for the Mint based on the current spot price of the metal plus a small premium.
