2013 ROYAL MINT (Great Britain) PROOF SILVER PENNY NGC PF 69 UCAM!! FIRST RELEASE SILVER PENNY FROM GREAT BRITAINRARE!! EXTREMELY LIMITED SUPPLY The Silver Penny has a contemporary design by graphic designer Matthew Dent, featuring a part of the Royal Arms. The obverse shows the acclaimed portrait of The Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS, which has been used on all legal tender UK coinage since 1998. The 1p coin forms part of the shield of the Royal Arms, a design spread across the range of UK coinage from the 1p to the 50p and which is shown in its entirety on the definitive £1 coin. Designer Matthew Dent chose the Royal Arms, and in particular a shield of the Royal Arms, as the theme. Like all legal tender, the Silver Penny was designed and made by master craftsmen at The Royal Mint, and has the official approval of The Queen.
