MONKEY'S GILDED IN 24-CARAT GOLD!This year's gilded edition from the Australian Lunar Series II depicts the monkey, the ninth of the twelve animals associated with the ancient Chinese Lunar Calendar.The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar monkey include 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004 and 2016. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be intelligent, quick-witted, optimistic, ambitious, and adventurous.A superb gift or collectable, the coin is meticulously struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver.Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, no more than 47,500 coins will be issued in this packaging out of a maximum mintage of 50,000.DESIGNThe reverse of the coin depicts an adult monkey and a baby monkey, gilded in 24-carat gold, sitting in a peach tree. The baby is holding a peach, which is symbolic of longevity and immortality.
