Please email me with any specific questions... This auction is for over 215 vintage sewing BUTTONS that came from an estate auction box. I found some paperwork that shows that the previous owner was a member of the Eastern Illinois Button Society in the 1970's. These buttons need a cleansing as they are very dusty from storage. The previous owner attached 27 of them to a cardboard lid and labeled them "Velvets or Perfume Buttons". She attached 25 buttons with BOW designs to another cardboard lid. the remaining buttons were found strung together with wire. The perfume buttons are mostly brass colored with velvet accents making some wonderfully detailed designs. The bow designed buttons vary in color and material. They mostly appear to be made of a plastic type of material...bakelite? lucite? celluloide? Some bows are translucent and others are opaque. T are three wire rings of white(milk) glass buttons. One ring has 20 button that have one hole on one end and two holes on the other...they are shaped like rounded beads with a flattened bottom. They do not look uniform in shape, almost like they were handmade instead of manufactured?? The second ring of white milk colored glass buttons has 50 buttons that are also not uniform in size, but are more traditionally shaped with two holes in the center of a flattened button.
